Last Saturday Dylan and I helped our friend Andrew move to Berlin. We took a train to Stuttgart to meet up with some guy Andrew found on mitfahrgelegenheit. Randomly we saw Dan in Stuttgart and hung out for a moment while waiting. The time came to leave and we hopped into a 9 seater van of which was completely full for the duration of the 8 hour ride. Our driver, an older German guy, was a terribly oblivious driver. More often than not he would drive in the middle of two lanes. It was something else.
After a few trains, a long drive, and a few subways we finally made it to Andrew's new home. All of his luggage in hand we hiked up 4 flights of stairs in his building to be warmly welcomed by Inga. She has been living in the apartment for the past 10 years and started pouring us wine glasses. 3 Bottles later my German skills were improving exponentially and we headed out to a bar at 1am. It was a 60s greaser bar and we had a great time dancing and drinking more. At about 5am we walked back to the apartment and Andrew immediately passed out on his new bed as the rest of us hung out for a little. It must have rained that night or something because there was a puddle in the corner.
The next day we wandered around Berlin and cruised a flea market where I purchased a cool handmade, leather bound notebook. This was a mellow day and at night Andrew cooked us an authentic Polish dinner. In the morning I woke up early to meet with some random guy from mitfahrgelegenheit to head down to Munich...
