Early in the morning in Berlin I went to the train station to meet with Adonis, a Lebanese guy I found on mitfahrgelegenheit. When I got to the platform he had two of his friends with him as well, Allain and Christelle. All 3 of them are from Lebanon, Adonis studies in Berlin, the other two in Lebanon. 9am on the train I pulled out a bottle of Jack and the party began. We took 4 or 5 trains on the journey drinking and meeting people on the train. It turns out that in Lebanon there are 3 official languages that everyone knows; Arabic, French, and English. Ten hours later we arrived in Munich and I said goodbye to my new friends.
A few days prior I met up with Dan in Tuebingen for the day and made plans to meet in Munich. We met up and went to a beer garden at Oktoberfest. There we met a random Californian from Sacramento. that night the three of us took over the city.
Day 2. Dan and I cruised to the festival and found seats in a beer tent. So many people it was ridiculous, but fun nonetheless. We hung out and drank a little and then decided that it would be a good idea to go to the concentration camp in Dachau. Hopping on a train we headed for Dachau. It was quite the experience. The camp was huge, way bigger than I had imagined. When the two of us got on the bus headed for the train station there was nothing but silence. Being in such an eerie place puts one in a low mood.
The next day I said goodbye to Dan and met up with the Lebanese guys to drink in a beer tent and drank we did. The only option is a beer that is 1 liter (32oz.). It took about 30 minutes to find a table and then the festivities began. Drinking and singing German songs. An experience to experience.
At some point I took a train headed for Tuebingen that day, my head heavy as an anchor. I took a days rest and then....
Dachau concentration camp.
Ya dude man, Jack will start that party.
